Taking advice from brides before me...

So after my last post about being bored and having nothing to do, I heard and am LISTENING to advice I was given.  I am going to use this "down time" to work on the mundane projects that I would have undoubtedly saved until the last minute.

I'm going to hunt the thrift stores for popcorn containers....
I'm going to spend countless hours taking the paper off of crayons and melting them into my letter molds...
I'm going to search for the perfect baskets for the pashminas and flip flops...
I'm going to weigh the pros and cons of silk vs. real flowers to make pomanders for the flower girls to carry.  I really hate hate HATE silk flowers, but I would love to do this project well in advance...
I'm going to search for the perfect mason jars and ribbon for the aisle decorations...
And I'm going to enjoy every bit of it!  Hopefully doing this will make the time go by faster!!

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL weekend!

I agree! Having a head start is always great! By the way I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that you're making your own letter crayons. How cute is that idea?!

i made balls for the flower girls to carry from fake flowers and no one knew the difference. they didnt fall apart (since i made them with hot glue) while they swung them around and twirled all day and they were half the price my florist was going to charge me for silk balls for the girls. i say do it!

those all seem like fun projects! Our date seems kinda far from today, but I bet it comes a lot quicker than we think!!! So exciting!

I'm also thinking of making a silk pomander for my flower girl-- super practical, as she's a bit "rough and tumble," and I have visions of this thing being thrown across the dance floor all night!

Enjoy your blog! We post about some similar topics in wedding world! It's nice to find others in the same place of life.

Here's a tip - I made the crayon letters. Don't waste your time peeling the paper off the crayons, if you soak them in a bowl of hot water (not boiling hot, just warm-hot) the paper will come off immediately - no peeling or picking required!

Good luck!
