Let them be SEXY!

We have chosen a bridesmaid dress!
Bridesmaid Shelly and I were having some cocktails on the patio of a restaurant yesterday.  It was 70 degrees and sunny here, and a perfect day for patio drinking!  We started looking up bridesmaid dress ideas, and we found the winner!!
It's so perfect!
It's from here and all of the girls love it.
Three are wearing it in brown, and three in this green color:

All 6 of my girls are absolutely gorgeous inside and out, and these dresses are going to have them look SMOKIN'!

We finished addressing our save the dates, and they are going in the mail today.  I have to say, I'm so excited to hear responses when people receive them, but I'm also sad to see them go out the door.  They are so pretty!

The saga continues...

Ok, I have made an executive decision and I'm sticking with it.

Some bridesmaids love this look, some think it's "cowboy-ish".  I have decided (thanks to your comments) that I love it.  I've loved this look since the first time I saw it here and I don't want to look back and regret not making the decision that I really wanted.  (thanks Adrienne!)
Now-another question.
I thought it would be perfect to have them all buy their own chocolate brown dress and then wear any shade of brown or tan boots.  Bridesmaid Claire is saying that she thinks we need color.  SO, do I ask three of them to buy/wear a colored dress?  I like the green in the picture.  We weren't going to use green but I am drifting further and further away from having a set color scheme.  I don't think it's necessary and I'm about ready to say eff it-and go with whatever I like.  Our shephard staffs down the aisle are going to have wild flowers of all colors from Vince's dad's garden.  There is no reason to stick with specific colors when the point of the venue is the fall leaf backdrop.
Right?
I am aware that I am thinking out loud but I am feeling kind of frustrated.  Everyone has an opinion.  EVERYONE.  And it's getting old.  It's getting old because most opinions I'm getting are OLD fashioned.  I want a different kind of wedding.  I want it to feel different.  I don't like cookie cutter anything.
So-do I ask them to buy specific dresses?  This goes against my wedding morals of not telling my best girlfriends what to buy.  I want to let them chose what they want.
UGH I'm so confused~what do I do?!?!

F F F FEATHERS!!!

I seriously have a new obsession.  FEATHERS.

I want to incorporate them in every aspect of our wedding, and I've found quite a few inspiration photos to satiate this appetite for FEATHERS!!!
I love the feathers in this bouquet, but not so much the flowers...
Luckily I have some very fashionable and fabulous bridesmaids that can totally pull of wearing a dress with feathers...like this one...
Or this one....come...to...mama...
And of course the highly coveted shoes....
The DIY bouts are definitely going to have some feathers in them...
Oh yeah.  This is totally going to become a reality.YUM.
Thoughts on feathers, ladies???

Ballerina girls...

SO, I have officially decided what the flower girls will be wearing in our wedding, and I'm so excited!!
I have 5 flower girls (the little girl I nanny for, my parents god daughter, my cousin, and two nieces.)  I am so excited to have them all in the wedding, and think they are going to love dressing up....
in these....
I found them on etsy from this wonderful woman
We are going to do them in all cream and white colors.  Cant you just see 5 sweet girls from ages 3-10 in these little dresses?  I even want them to wear ballet slippers.  I think it will be so sweet, and we all know I'm not a huge fan of flower girls dressed in a wedding looking dress.  It creeps me out.

Anyway, I will post pictures as soon as I have them...in the mean time, has anyone seen wedding pictures with ballerina flower girls??

An interesting holiday...

Well I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.  This being my first holiday on Weight Watchers-I was a little nervous about all of the food, but it went well and I didn't feel deprived at all.  It's funny how much you can do when you just set your mind to something.

It was a bit of a sad day, though.  Vince was gone on a 4 day camping trip with his dad, so I was missing him a lot!  My mom (who is a doula- which is a woman who assists in delivering babies) got called to a birth on the morning of Thanksgiving, and she was gone until 1am!  She missed the whole day, but we brought her some food to the hospital...it wasn't the best day, but we still had fun with some neighborhood friends.
This morning, my mom and I took out her wedding dress to see what we could salvage from it for mine (which she is going to make).
I think we can definitely use some of the lace, which I love!
Up close of the detail...
This is her prom dress from highschool.  I have worn it so many times for Halloween and different plays when I was in in high school.  We are going to model the style of my wedding dress off of this dress.  It's so simple, and I cannot wait to get started!
So, it was a good holiday.  I hope you each had a wonderful time with your families.

Tomorrow I am going to be sharing a wedding that I think you will love.  It's one of the most simple, unique weddings I've ever heard of and I cannot WAIT to tell you all about it!
