A busy weekend...

Ok, here goes a long post with lots of fun wedding details...

Friday night we baby sat for the munchkins that I nanny for.  I truly love when Vince and I get to watch the kids together, because it makes my heart melt to see him with them.  He is so patient (he spent 30 minutes on this one book answering every single "why" question from Tyler) and he loves them so much.  I literally cannot imagine what it will be like to see him with our kids one day.  I can't wait!!
(check out Vince's standard weekend "comfy" outfit.  Sexy.)
On Saturday my mom and I headed up to the mountains to check out some wedding stuff.  We got to meet with our AMAZING DOC and venue owner, Suzy.  She is seriously an amazing woman who truly loves what she does.  We found out some AWESOME information: I thought our custom package and price was for 100 guests.  I've been stressing out about cutting the guest list to keep it to 100, and she told us on Saturday that our price includes 150 guests!!!!  That is the biggest load off-I cannot even explain to you!

So...after we met with Suzy we met with a cake lady, and I showed her the EXACT cake I want.  She quoted us a great price, and her cake tasted delicious.
I can't remember where I found this wedding, but I love so much about it...
I love this cake, and I cannot wait to see it in our venue with our cake toppers.
One of my biggest dilemmas right now is what to have the grooms wear.  Vince does not want them to have to buy anything.  He wants them to wear a black suit that they already have.  I'm thinking no.  I love this look below:
Another big development is the dress.  We thought my mom was going to make my dress.  After a lot of discussion, we decided this might be too difficult and stressful for her and me.  SO, I have been looking at Nordstrom and Dillards online...here's what I like.  But I have to try them on of course...
I still want super simple and no poof.  So I cannot wait to try these on.  Although, I am still 40 pounds away from my goal weight, so it will be hard to tell right now what I will look like on the wedding day!
I'm OBSESSED with this boutonniere .  It's so manly and DIY friendly, don't you think?
So thats all for now.  I'm sorry I'm not too bubbly today, but there is some not so fun wedding stuff going on right now that has me really down.  I'll go into more detail later, but I will say that I can totally relate to all the girls who blogged about fighting with your fiance in the midst of wedding planning.  It's not fun, and I'm so confused as to what I should do right now so as not to offend him or his family.  Wish me luck!

The things I want to DIY

This list keeps growing.

I met with my mom last night to go over some wedding things.  She was practically laughing at me as I told her all of my ideas of things I want to DIY.  She thought I was over extending myself, and that I wouldn't be able to do it all.

DON'T.  UNDERESTIMATE ME.  Is what I said to her.

And so it continues:
DIY LIST:

Kids Table.  Precious.
Duh.  I love these.
I want to request in the invitation that everyone mail a wedding picture in with their RSVP.  I want to display them at the wedding in mason jars.  So easy. Right?
The *NEW* candy bar...
Popcorn. yum.  From here
I love mason jars.  I have to have them hanging from chairs.  From here.
The oh-so-famous map.  My oh-so-talented uncle is going to make one for us.
this one from here.
My awesome cousin is making our cake toppers.  I hope they look like this :)
My mom is making our ring bowl.
She's very talented with making things out of clay.
Oh yes.  Vince says he doesn't want to wear a flower.  Ok honey, you can wear feathers, berries and dried flowers.  I love you.  From here
Yet again.  Julia has convinced me so I'm going to do them.  And they will be fabulous.  What wouldn't be fabulous with feathers involved?

Our bouquets.  This one might make me a little nervous.  I know we can do it though.  From here
These are so doable, right??

The Skinny on Ties...

So here's the deal.  I love skinny ties.  There is just something about the way guys look in them that makes me swoon.  I found a website called narrowties.com.
These ties are awesome!
Here are two I love...

How cute will Vince's 7 adorable buds be in these socks?!

They are going to be so cute!
Now if we could only be cool enough to have them all in matching Converse...
Or these adorable Vans....
le sigh...

The Ring...and other musings..

This is my ring.  Kind of.  I can't find a picture of it, but this is the exact same style.

I LOVE it.
This is it on my finger.  (Before the cop came over and told me that I had to stop taking pictures.  They said I could be taking pictures to come back and rob the place!)
SO, thats it!

Now I just have to wait for the down on one knee thing!

I went out of town this weekend with my wonderful Aunt Susie.  We went to her fabulous lake house and it was so much fun and super relaxing.  We did a lot of wedding talking/planning.  When I got home last night, I was telling Vince about the visions I had for our wedding party.  I really wanted to have his guys look like this:
He likes the look, but as we have discussed a thousand times-he doesn't want his guys to have to buy anything.  We have always said that with our wedding party; we want them to wear something they already have so they aren't stressed out about spending money.  We want to honor them- not cause them to go broke.  He really had to bring me back to reality last night, and I so appreciate him for it.  I began to say things like, "well, they would only have to buy the jacket" or "they will want to do it, because they love you".
He shook his head at me.  He reminded me of what this wedding is about to us.  Not about tiny details.  Not about spending a lot of money.  It's about love, family, friends, and relaxing.
I have a feeling he is going to have to bring me back down quite a bit over the next 11 months.
And that's ok.
That's what love is all about.
