There's somethin' happening here...

So much is going on right now, I cannot believe I was just posting the other day about how bored I am!
Here is a shot of one of the ring bowl my mom makes.  This is an old one, and ours will be different colors, but you get the idea:

I'm so excited about this: it is one of the 4 glass canisters we got at hobby lobby this week.  We will be using 4 of these for the popcorn bar!!  Aren't they great?

And now for the fantastic flower girl dresses and the pomander balls!!
My mom and I made the first prototype today, and I couldn't be happier!  We will add more feathers to them, but here is a rough first draft...
DARLING!!

Here is sweet Sophia in her dress this morning (not quite awake yet!)

And here are my two cutie little nieces hammin' it up in their's!

AH!  I'm so excited.

Wedding deliciousness...

While browsing the blogs this morning I came across this wedding featured on Snippet and Ink...and I LOVE IT!
I am in love with this bouquet...

And these...I love the green wheat...
Also, our flower girl dresses are here!  They are EVERYTHING I hoped they would be and more.  I will take a picture of Sophia (little girl I nanny) in hers tomorrow.  SO CUTE!

Something else I'm super excited about are the ring bowls.  I know everyone has seen these from here
My mom is fantastically creative and works with clay. When I showed them to her she said she thought she could make them.  Once she started making our ring bowl she realized how cute it was going to be- and now she's making enough of them for us to use as favors at our wedding.
I'm so excited!  We are going to put a sweet phrase along with them to explain what they are.

Thats all for now!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!

My precious..

So-thanks so much to all of you for helping me come to my bridesmaid decisions.  We are going with the boots.  I'm so thrilled with my decision, and all the maids seem pretty excited too.  I still have to decide on the dresses, but we have time for that.

On to other things!  I fell in love with this bouquet 2 years ago when I saw my mom's boss's son's wedding pictures (follow me?)
I am O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D.
I emailed the picture to a friend of our family who is very into flowers.  She told me the flower is called a Protea.  However, I cannot seem to find them online.  The closest thing I found on google image search was this?
It's really not the same, huh.  Hmm.
So now my mission is to find these flowers.  Aren't they cool?  And won't they look great with these bouts?

F F F FEATHERS!!!

I seriously have a new obsession.  FEATHERS.

I want to incorporate them in every aspect of our wedding, and I've found quite a few inspiration photos to satiate this appetite for FEATHERS!!!
I love the feathers in this bouquet, but not so much the flowers...
Luckily I have some very fashionable and fabulous bridesmaids that can totally pull of wearing a dress with feathers...like this one...
Or this one....come...to...mama...
And of course the highly coveted shoes....
The DIY bouts are definitely going to have some feathers in them...
Oh yeah.  This is totally going to become a reality.YUM.
Thoughts on feathers, ladies???

The things I want to DIY

This list keeps growing.

I met with my mom last night to go over some wedding things.  She was practically laughing at me as I told her all of my ideas of things I want to DIY.  She thought I was over extending myself, and that I wouldn't be able to do it all.

DON'T.  UNDERESTIMATE ME.  Is what I said to her.

And so it continues:
DIY LIST:

Kids Table.  Precious.
Duh.  I love these.
I want to request in the invitation that everyone mail a wedding picture in with their RSVP.  I want to display them at the wedding in mason jars.  So easy. Right?
The *NEW* candy bar...
Popcorn. yum.  From here
I love mason jars.  I have to have them hanging from chairs.  From here.
The oh-so-famous map.  My oh-so-talented uncle is going to make one for us.
this one from here.
My awesome cousin is making our cake toppers.  I hope they look like this :)
My mom is making our ring bowl.
She's very talented with making things out of clay.
Oh yes.  Vince says he doesn't want to wear a flower.  Ok honey, you can wear feathers, berries and dried flowers.  I love you.  From here
Yet again.  Julia has convinced me so I'm going to do them.  And they will be fabulous.  What wouldn't be fabulous with feathers involved?

Our bouquets.  This one might make me a little nervous.  I know we can do it though.  From here
These are so doable, right??

Monday Morning Inspiration

Good Morning Friends!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I definitely did.  Friday night was wonderful.  Vince got a much deserved promotion that day so we celebrated with a friend and a special bottle of champagne.

Saturday was full of house hunting (nothing we love yet) and then dinner and drinks with friends.  It was a great and relaxing weekend.

I came across this picture here
I am IN LOVE with the idea of hanging mason jars from things.  Branches, chairs, etc.  Since our amazing DOC and venue owner is already doing our centerpieces at Neverland Farms, I have felt a little sad that there wasn't anything for me to do as far as decor.  HOWEVER, now I can do this!
As mentioned here,
I have a little obsession with personalized cake toppers.  My super talented cousin is going to make ours out of sculpey and I couldn't be happier.  I still want ours to be me dragging Vince.  I just think it's hilarious.
I think this one is awesome, and would be STOKED to have ours look like either one of these cake toppers.
I am also in love with this wedding found here via here.  This bride's hair and makeup is now in my inspiration folder to show my girl, Candace-who is doing my hair and makeup on the big day.

You don't bring me flowers...

I came across a wedding today that I fell in love with.  Snippet and Ink featured Jesse and Deanna's diy wedding today, and I think it is fantastic.  Deanna seemed to be so down to earth about details that are usually obsessed over.
My favorite part about the details of their wedding was the flowers.  They were all do it yourself.  They ordered the flowers wholesale and arranged them with friends and family (an idea that I adore!)  They also did the idea that I have which is to spend time collecting vintage glass bottles at thrift stores and garage sales.  I have already started my collection (our apartment is too small for all the bottles I have already found)  and I adore the simplicity of them.  My favorite look is to put one stem in a vase.

I think this is perfect for the laid back outdoor wedding I hope to have.  It looks so pretty and classic without looking over the top and without blowing a budget.  Good job to Jesse and Deanna! You can see their blog here
