On the proverbial 'fit train'

As Mojito Maven likes to say:  I'm back on the fit train kids!!

After the excitement that was my jean discovery this morning, I realize that the little working out I've been doing is actually making a difference.  SO if I PUMP UP THE VOLUME, I will be a few sizes lower in no time!
I read on Lovely Morning that On Demand has some great workout programs.  I checked them out today, and that chick Jillian from Biggest Loser kicked my BUTT!!!  I did her 30 minute workout, and then I did a 30 minute All Over Pilates routine.

It.  Was.  Awesome.

I used heavy soup cans as weights, and I was really sweating by the end of them!

The best part?  I did it while the kids were napping, so I actually did something productive instead of surfing the web for 2 hours!

I also want to thank Simple Yet Classic for her inspiration, food and workout advice, and for starting her new blog!

WOOT WOOT!

OH!!!!!!!!
Guess who fit into these jeans this morning?!?!?!

ME!

I bought them a year ago and haven't fit into them since!

Oh and also....

They're LOOSE!!!!

New Year Resolutions...

So after reading Heather's post I decided I wanted to blog about my resolutions this year...
I never truly believe in resolutions at New Years.  I don't believe you really stick with them and I think bettering yourself and challenging yourself should happen throughout the year, not on one day.

With that being said, I feel very strongly about a few things this year and since it's been such an eventful few months, I feel inclined to make some RESOLUTIONS for the following year....

1) LOSE THIS WEIGHT.  STICK WITH WEIGHT WATCHERS.  GO TO THE GYM.
2) BE RELAXED ABOUT WEDDING PLANNING.  REMEMBER WHAT IS IMPORTANT: I AM MARRYING THE LOVE OF MY LIFE.  MINOR DETAILS ARE IRRELEVANT AS LONG AS THE END OUTCOME IS BEING MARRIED TO EACH OTHER.
3) SAVE.  SAVE.  SAVE.  SAVE.  SAVE.  SAVE.  SAVE.  SAVE.

4) BE A BETTER SISTER AND DAUGHTER.  REMEMBER THAT FAMILY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING AND BE THE BEST SISTER AND DAUGHTER I CAN BE.
5) REMEMBER HOW LUCKY I AM TO HAVE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE MAN IN MY LIFE AND TREAT HIM WITH THE LOVE AND RESPECT HE DESERVES.  EVERY DAY.
Happy New Years, friends!!

Things going on with me...

This has been such a crazy week!  I have been (for the first time in my life) incredibly diligent with my workouts and eating super healthy.  Let me tell you something friends-it is WORTH IT!  I feel amazzzzzzzzzzzzzing.  I pop out of bed in the morning.  I skip up stairs, and I'm not hungry!  I eat when I feel hungry, but my body isn't craving crap anymore.  I feel so good, and I'm so motivated after my 3 pound loss this week.  I can't wait until next Wednesday and I hope to see some more numbers drop!
-My favorite low point meal this week?  Chicken breasts in the crockpot covered in salsa and then served with black beans, cilantro, cumin and a little fat free sour cream.  DELICIOUS!

So other than totally changing my lifestyle-I have been working on my research paper that I need to graduate with my bachelors.  It's a long story, but I have been out of college for 2 years and only had one class to finish in order to graduate.  I had almost given up on ever doing it, but with a push from my parents and Vince, I reenrolled, and I'm almost finished!  I'm doing my research on stay at home mothers and their happiness with their life.  I might be asking you readers to help me so stay tuned....

I have ALSO been working with the oh-so-wonderful Heather over at we met in a bar.  She is making our save the dates for us, and I am so excited with what she has come up with already.  If anyone is in the market for invitations-she is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G to work with.

My mom and I finalized our guest list last night, and I feel really good about it.  We were fairly cut throat about who we wanted to be there.  I am confident that we will succeed in our desire to be surrounded by our closest family and friends.  Not strangers.

Now I leave you with some images that have made me SO happy this week:

These necklaces for my bridesmaids:
The idea of having a "tie tree" where guys can hang their ties at the reception.  The sign will read, "fellas, loosen up that tie and RELAX!"
This image from tying the knot.  She has totally sold me on the idea of matching socks for the boys.
This image again from tying the knot.  I just adore it.
And this just makes me smile.  (not sure where I found it)
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, LOVELIES!

WOW-E-WOW!

Guess what guess what guess what!?!?!?
I lost 3.2 pounds this week!
I went to weight watchers tonight, and I am so proud that I lost weight!
I worked out 5 days this week, and I ate 9 points less than what I'm supposed to everyday.

It worked!  If I can keep this up, I will be at my goal weight in 6 months!  Which means I will be a SKINNY BRIDE...

Good things come...

....to those who wait!!

Remember this bag??

Well, Sophia (the two year old I nanny for) and I took our weekly trip to the mall today.  She loves going to the mall, so I want to keep her happy, right??
We always go into Anthropologie to check on this bag, because I have been waiting for it to go on sale.  GUESS WHAT??  It was HALF OFF today!  So I decided that as a reward for my patience, I had to buy it!  I am so excited.  It has tons of great pockets on the inside to keep everything organized and I just love the colors.  Yippee!

I also got a few of these.....
This evening I will be going to my second Weight Watchers meeting.  I'm looking forward to it, but kind of dreading the weigh-in.  I don't feel like I've lost any weight this week.  I've done great with staying under my alloted points for each day, but I still feel like I weigh the same.  We'll see tonight.  I'm not going to get discouraged, though.  It's only been a week!

Wish me luck!!

I think I'm in love...

So, I know my posts have been a lot about food today, but you have to understand: now that I'm doing WW, it's all I can think about!  Not because I want to eat all the time, but because I want to make smart, conscience food choices.  I never used to think about what I was eating before, and I'm telling you-I was eating a LOT!
Tonight I discovered something that is going to be my
new
best
friend...
Oh my sweet Lord, these are so good!  They are filling and delicious and with a tablespoon of low fat sour cream, it was a fantastic dinner!
Run out to your local grocery store and stock up on these.  You will not be sorry!

Tempted by the fruit of another...

Here's the deal..
I'm really excited about weight watchers.
Like-really, really, super duper excited.  I'm ready to take an active approach to losing this weight.
I'm ready to feel proud of myself instead of mad at myself everyday for giving into every craving for food that comes my way.
HOWEVER-
now that I'm doing it, I find myself wanting every bad food you could possibly think of.  I'm not hungry.  The great thing about WW is that you can eat what you like, just smaller portions.  I don't feel like I'm starving, and I actually still have points left at the end of the day.
If I were to indulge in these kinds of foods below, I know I would eat too much.
 In order to eat this:
I would only be able to have a few bites to stay within my points.
What's the point?!
Now these:
Are simply out of the question.  No means no.

Oh and this one:

Loaded with cream cheese, please!

With all the fall fairs coming up, who wants to deny themselves one of these:
And come on!  It's fall!  I could eat this:
For every meal of the day.

Oh me oh my this is hard.  But like I keep hearing:
NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS SKINNY FEELS.
And I believe them.
And I am going to do this.
These cravings are fleeting.
My good health will be forever.

Now back to my apple...

One giant step for me...

Ok.  After a LOT of thought and deliberation on the matter, I did it.  I signed up for Weight Watchers today.  I have been struggling with my weight for years, and I'm done.  Thanks to the wonderful ladies of Simple Yet Classic, Blue Eyed Bride, and Make Mine a Mojito I have been inspired.  I just know I can do it, and I am ready to be skinny!

Check out their blogs for Weight Watcher Wednesday tips.  These girls are so dedicated.

I am incredibly excited to start looking and feeling good.

Wish me luck!  My first meeting is tomorrow night!
