An Amazing Weekend...

We had such an incredible weekend! 

We had family come in town on Friday, and the party was Saturday night.  Saturday was a fun day filled with decorating, cooking and laughing.  We took a break to get our nails done and it was so much fun to have some time with my aunt, sister and sister-in-law.  We had a blast decorating, and my aunt and mom went over the top with the Paris theme.  Here is the dining room table before the food went out...

They turned out so cute, and everyone loved the touch of having a glass with their name on it.  

On Sunday we went to a bridal shop to try on some dresses.  It was a bittersweet experience for me.  I tried on the Jessica dress and she is BEAUTIFUL!  However, it's pretty frustrating to not be a size that I'm comfortable with right now.  I was so sad trying on dresses that were all half the size I actually wear.  

Due to the sadness that was trying on dresses, I have a new obsession with losing weight, and I'm going to be super diligent about it again.  I've lost 12 pounds on Weight Watchers, but I've kind of slacked lately.  Back on the FIT TRAIN!

A fun weekend...

Ok-so let me tell you all a little something about Vince's job.  He works for an awesome company that started out tiny, has grown to be huge, and has still kept the small company attitude.  They treat their employees like gold and we both feel like we hit the jackpot with his job.  He loves what he does with a passion, and I love the fact that the company is family oriented and respectful to it's employees.

Last year for Christmas-they took the entire company to Florida and we stayed in a gorgeous resort all expenses paid.  They even gave us spending money!  This year, we stayed at a winery here in Georgia (yes, we have wineries!)

We had the best time.  They had awesome food at the party, full open bar-and a really fun band. I am so thankful and feel so lucky that he works for such a great company!

In your wedding dress...

Have any of you heard that Matt Nathanson song, "in your wedding dress"?  It's amazing and Vince recently admitted to me that it brought tears to his eyes once when he was listening to my iPod mix.  He's such a cutie.

ANYWAY, here is the dress I am coveting at the moment.  I found it in the most recent Inside Weddings magazine (which incidentally is the first and only wedding magazine I've bought since we've been engaged)

It's called the Jessica and I love her.

If you know me at all, you would know that POOF is NOT my thang.  I'm getting married on a farm, folks.  I want to be as casual as one can actually be on her wedding day wearing a gown.  

I also like this one a lot.  I came across it on the Davids Bridal website and I think it's so pretty and simple.  

Our engagement party is next weekend, and I'm so excited.  My *favorite* aunt and uncle are coming in town from Florida for the party.  Since everyone will be here, we are going to do the whole wedding dress shopping trip next Sunday after the party.  I'm very excited.  I've made an appointment here and they have the Jessica, so I can't wait to see her in person!

An Engagement Party!

My mom and I ordered the invitations yesterday for Vince and my Engagement Party.  

Here is the example.  I changed the font, but otherwise, it's the same.

I'm so excited, and I think they are super cute.

Do most people have engagement parties anymore?  I am excited to get together with close friends and family and celebrate.  Maybe my awesome sister can take some cute "engagement type" shots of us!

The fabulous Amy over at Chapters did this, and I thought it would be fun to do. 

We had a great time doing this on Saturday.  It was supposed to be a couples carving contest, but the boys didn't really want anything to do with the carving.  So now us girls are all suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome.  Those babies were hard to carve!!

It was a fun, cold fall evening.  We ate the yummy WW meal; Baked Pasta with Butternut Squash and Ricotta.  It was delicious and no one even knew it was so healthy.  We had a fire outside in the chiminea which is good because it was really cold here.
